This is my Funbot built using 3/8" rods/tubes and bronze bushings. Updates: My original Funbot has been running for 3 years. I'm getting ready to do some upgrades. Updateing and adding files as needed. 5/21/18 I split the hotend cap from the mount. I added both a 12mm inductive sensor and a non-ABL hotend mount. I added the regular hotend cap, and one that includes a 5015 part fan mount. I added a duct for the 5015 part fan. I updated the ABL Marlin firmware to Marlin 1.1.8 with bugfixes. It is set to have the Y endstop mounted in front. The Y endstop is still connected to the YMin pins, but will home to max. It has Bilinear Bed Leveling turned on along with BabyStepping and Linear Advance. Safe Z homing is enabled. 5/16/18 Uploaded updated Marlin 1.18 setup for Auto Bed Leveling and No ABL. It has Linear Advance and Babystepping enabled. Custom Bootscreen Added. 5/2/18 Z Carriage for use with T8 Leadscrew and bushing holders built in. Also changed the X endstop to support both the original and new reprap style. The default STL's for the funbot are already 3/8" which makes it nice. I wanted to use bronze bushings, so I made an adapter from the bronze bushings to the LMU10 bearings it's designed for. I bought the bushings and 12" stainless rods(Z Axis) and 12" aluminum tubes(X & Y Axis) from servocity.com. I'm not sure yet how well the aluminum tubes are going to work, so you might just want to get the stainless rods for all axis until I have tested it. I bought a couple 8"x8"x1/8" aluminum plates for the bed and had a 11.5"x12"x1/2" aluminum plate for the base. My base is way too thick, but I had it already. A 1/4" thick plate would have been better. I wanted a Bowden extruder, so I made a simple mount that mounts over the Spool Plates and still lets them adjust. It holds the extruder in a 45 degree angle to hopefully help with the filament feeding. I've followed Cliff's video build tutorials for assembly. I'm no 3d designer, so I'm including the SCAD files in hopes it allows other to tweak/fix/upgrade what I've done easily. 3/8"x3/4" Bronze Bushings AGB-A2-20 $1.75 https://www.servocity.com/html/bronze_bushings.html 3/8"x12" Stainless Rods 634222 $5.89 https://www.servocity.com/html/3_8__precision_shafting.html 3/8"x12" Aluminum Tubes 635250 $3.99 https://www.servocity.com/html/3_8__hollow_aluminum_tubing.html The bed plates I purchased off ebay. I recommend using the Z carriage with TR8 Leadscrew from Djinn5150's remix. He also has a nice Hotend holder, X Belt tensioner availablehttp://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1181189 All wired up now. Just need to calibrate and print! Link to the Funbot Build Threadhttp://forums.reprap.org/read.php?166,429588,469445#msg-469445 First Print Videohttp://youtu.be/dOjd456S570 Printing Zombie Hunter. Still haven't tuned it.http://youtu.be/E2vOD2z6caE http://youtu.be/RQfkIAslGjQ I think I have the Slicer config working pretty good now for the Bowden Extruder. The Retract and Support settings are really working good for this printer. So, I've included the Sli3er config and bundle. You will need to change the Bed Size and Nozzle size for your build. Added a pic of 3D Benchy Printed with this Config. Updates: 10/27/15 Made a change to the extruder support for easier printing 11/12/15 Added Hotend Mount that works with Chinese style E3d Hotends and has a mount for Inductive Sensor for autobed leveling. The Inductive Sensor is offset 23mm from the Hotend on the Y axis.
