***USE ONLY UNDER DIRECTION OF A LICENSED VETERINARIAN. DESIGN IS UNTESTED AND IS INTENDED TO ALTER ESSENTIAL AIR FLOW TO AN ANIMAL, SUPERVISE THE ANIMAL AT ALL TIMES DURING USE AND USE AT YOUR OWN RISK*** I had been planning on delaying the release of this model until I had time to test more features of it and perfect the fit and finish, but with COVID-19 in full swing and a variety of animals being impacted I hurried it up and uploaded it here. Sure, it looks weird, and quite comical, but the equine snoot adapter is pretty useful overall. It is a modernization of designs first produced in world war I during the chemical warfare period: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/231583605810966215/ It is setup to cover the snoot, with either a version that is closed in the front for better air quality control, or one that is open in front to allow them to eat with the device on. There are twin 1" NPT threads on either side that can have a wide variety of attachments. Examples include: CPAP Nebulizer Air filter (pictured) Snorkel Gas Mask To build the air filter (Equine face mask) you will need this print and a pair of 1" NPT couplers https://www.mcmaster.com/4464k356 and a pair of small NPT filters: https://www.mcmaster.com/4401k15. Alternatively if the air filters prove too difficult to breathe through, you might take a regular dust mask and lay it over the whole and screw it on with a coupler for a thinner fabric. I have not had a chance to build and test this yet, so if the filters prove to produce too much resistance, take the filter apart and replace the material with a thinner one. You will also need to make seals of some type around the opening at the top of the device where the snoot is inserted. If you are using the open version, place fabric around the opening to cushion against any uncomfortable rubbing, the open version does not have as good of an air seal and is more intended for smoke filtering during wild fire season. I recommend to use this while supervised at all times as the horse will likely find it mildly irritating and will attempt to rub it off. This will put a lot of load on the filters and potentially break them off. Monitor the horse carefully for signs of distress and remove the unit immediately if they appear to be having breathing difficulty. The unit is intended to be attached to an existing halter or can have it's own straps.
