Was looking to design a print in place articulated model for my 6-year-old granddaughter and came up with this idea. Wanted a model that she could color and make her own using Sharpie markers or paint pens. Therefore, spike was born. Spike gives a lot of different areas to color and was made to resemble a spiked caterpillar. It then occurred to me you could remove the spikes and glue on fur making a fuzzy pet. It still has area to color and make it unique. You can buy the fur at most hobby stores. This is the fur I purchased; it comes in many colors. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07VF6WBKK?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2_dt_b_product_details To apply fur – Start with section behind the head. Cut from the back side using x-acto knife to avoid cutting the fur. Measure the width to match the top of the section you are working on. I was able to cover 3 to 4 sections with one cut piece. Start by placing a small amount of super glue on the bottom of the flat edge on one side. Apply glue across the section to the opposite side where the flat section ends. Wrap fur piece and press in place. Proceed to the next section and hold the fur back from the previous section to keep it from getting in the glue. Proceed section by section in this process. When finished allow to dry before brushing or combing the fur. This will remove parts of the fur that are loose. Fuzzy can be colored before or after placing fur. Make a great pet. Pictures show Fuzzy painted, 1/2 sized Spike, Full size Spike and full Size naked Fuzzy.
