Improved tail assembly for the FX070c. This variation adds more plastic in weak areas for added durability, along with the ability to use a 4x8x2.5mm ball bearing in the gearcover to reduce play in the tail prop. This gearbox was reverse engineered from the dimensions of the stock assembly and will allow use of the stock gearcover if not using a ball bearing. Please read Post Printing for notes on assembly & required parts. Print Settings Printer: JGAurora A3 Rafts: No Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.2mm Infill: Cubic 20% Notes: Gear Cover and Motor Cover require no supports. Print the Gearbox motor side down. I printed with support for angles over 78 degrees. Should be printed with .4mm nozzle or smaller. Post-Printing Requirements to complete -Use gear shaft from stock assembly. It is a press-fit part. May require using a 5/64" or 2mm drill bit to finish the hole depending on print quality before installation. -Gear shaft will require two 2mm washers about 0.5mm thick before installing gear. Use grease between washers, as this will be a bearing surface for the prop to push against (stock is plastic on plastic). -Use a 8mmx4mmx2.5mm ball bearing in the gear cover. This will provide greater support for the prop, leading to quieter and more reliable operation. Alternatively, the stock gear cover can be used is desired. -Motor cover is press-fit and entirely optional / cosmetic. May require double sided tape for secure installation. -The most difficult part is fishing the motor wires through the hole in the assembly. I did this by fishing tiny wires backwards and soldering the to the large wires. I used this to pull the large wires through the hole. -A 5/16" or 8mm drill bit may be required to finish the hole for the tail boom. It should be snug, but easy enough to slide on. -Use screws from stock assembly where they seem appropriate.
