It provides a Fully supported USB port while keeping the phone really secure. We had zero disconnects after we switched to this mount. Print all pieces, then glue the two small bars across the upper area of the base with super glue. The mount is meant to be screwed to the build surface with two button head screws. The top dovetail section at the top should be covered with a small piece velcro (the soft side) to hold it tight and allow for easy on and off.
