According to IUGS, gabbrou is a plutonic rock with 0-5% Q, P(A + P) greater than 90%, and plagioclase more calcic than An50. Labradorite can display an iridescent optical effect (or schiller) known as labradorescence. Essential minerals: plagioclase, olivine, pyroxene.
