GAEM Soldering Jig

thingiverse

This is a jig for soldering the electronics for the educational Arduino project, the General Arduino Exploration Machine. Software for the project can be found here: https://github.com/kriskeillor/GAEM/ (The folder 03-hardware includes this STL file and, in the near future, will contain KiCad schematic and BOM. When all are uploaded, the project should be easy to assemble from off-the-shelf parts, with a 100% success rate even for beginner hobbyists.) Basic BOM: - 1x Arduino Micro - 2x 17 by 1 female 2.54mm header (standard 8mm height) - 3x 12mm push buttons (Adafruit part #1009 or #1010) - 8x 5mm LED The LEDs in this model have a 1mm thick lip and are 8.7mm tall overall. - 8 connector wires to control the LEDs. - 4 resistors to limit the current on the LEDs (resistance will vary by LED color, recommend 6~700 for low-energy LEDs and ~1k for high-energy LEDs). - 1x Half-Sized Perma Proto Board (Adafruit part #1609)
