Gaggia Classic Arduino & Touchscreen Housing

thingiverse

This is a housing for a Gaggia Classic Espresso machine, designed for an Arduino Nano and a Nextion touchscreen display to control and display the boiler temperature. The wiring and code has been created by Zer0-bit and uploaded to github, here: https://github.com/Zer0-bit/gaggiuino There is also a complete parts list there with everything you need to assemble this yourself. The design has been updated to include accommodations for an Arduino controlled dimmer to allow for programmable pressure profiling. There is now an internal enclosure with the sensor and controller modules inside of it, and the power supply has its own enclosure. The Arduino Nano is now all that is behind the screen in the external housing. I have also included an Arduino shield, which allows the Arduino to be easily removed in the event of a software update. I am using db15 connectors to pass 5v power and data through the machine case into the Arduino enclosure. There is also now two options for the lid that covers the water fill funnel, one with just a hook for opening, and one with a circular recess that is sized for a tamper. You will need two of the "standoff" pieces. These go between the Arduino expansion board and the "Arduino bracket" piece as a spacer. Print settings are just the basic Prusa PLA profile, with supports only needed under the hook on the "door" piece. Everything else should print as is. The "housing" may need a brim as it has a pretty small contact area. The uploaded .3mf files should open in Prusaslicer with correct settings and orientations. I have also included the Fusion 360 file. NOTE: THIS IS A CONSTANTLY EVOLVING PROJECT. THESE COMPONENTS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE TO ACCOMODATE ADDITIONAL FEATURES OR TO IMPROVE THE DESIGN.
