Gaggia MDF - Stepless and Non-dosing Mod

Current Status: I have added a base to set the gaggia inclined so that you dont need to pump anymore coffee beans. A small tray has been added as the coffee powder sometimes spread wide outside the gaggia, this way you can let it grind into the tray. It's easier also to check grinded coffee. Overall, I managed to convert a gaggia in a better machine such as: - lower retention (but still present, do periodical cleaning) - stepless grinding setting (works flowless) - non dosing grinder (I would usually put a gram on top of my dose just to be sure i can gather enough coffee on top of retention) I am happy with it and hopefully I gave you a nice project to convert a gaggia mdf. In the future, I will probably upgrade to a more professional and less "homemade" grinder but for now this gaggia has served me well (and looks good imho). Gaggia MDF - Stepless and Non-dosing Mod Hi all,i had a Gaggia MDF laying around the house which didnt satisfy me due to both the stepped grind setting and the amount of coffee wasted due to the coffee ground container. I came up with this mod to enable both a stepless control of the grinding setting and a new carriage to enable "direct" grinding on the portafilter. "Main" represents the full body of the new carriage where the gaggia engine should be inserted. On the back you will find a place for the switch, cables and some cuts to enable heat dissipation. WARNING!! when printing this part you should plan 2 pause with your slicer at the right layer height based on your setting. this pause has to be done to include 2 m4 nuts (2 for each pause), so that you can hold everything together. "Stepless mod" is inserted between the springs and the top brass part holding the top burr. "hat" is used to close the engine from the top. "upper gear" should be inserted inside the top brass part, and enables to move it to adjust grinding settings. "pump" should be printed with some flex filament. It allow to pump air inside the gaggia to push out some coffee remainings. "vassoio" is the italian word for tray, it gathers grinded coffee. I use it in many different purpose, checking beans, weight beans and also....cleaning. (clean properly at every use, or if you can cover it with a layer of resin) "sbieco" is the mod to inclinate the gaggia, I highly recommend this as the pump is not really an easy way of lowering retention.
