Galaxy S3 Powered Dock

Galaxy S3 Powered Dock

thingiverse

This is a small, desktop docking station for Galaxy S3 phones that do not have a protective case. It has USB pass-through, so the dock will charge your phone and allow it to be connected to a computer. It leaves all of the buttons exposed and has rounded edges so that you can easily do things on your phone while it is in the dock. This can be printed with a Replicator 2 without supports. The holster is a separate piece, so if you have a different phone, or don't like the holster design I've posted, you can make your own and attach it to the base. Check out the instructions for a list of parts and how to print. Note: I will be working on a new version that is very similar, but has a switch on the front so the charging can be enabled/disabled. I will post that design when it is complete. Instructions Parts List SparkFun: 1x USB MicroB Plug 1x USB MicroB Socket McMaster Carr: 6x M3x8mm Machine Screws 4x M3x5mm Machine Screws 1x M3 Metric Tap Printing These parts can be printed without supports. In MakerWare, lay the Base flat on the surface, and rotate the Top upside down and lay on the surface. The holster can be printed as is.
