I took the Gamecube Fan Bracket with RPI Pico mod that WillD7545 made based on collingalls fan shroud and ZenLabz's Pico Boot stand and modified it to fit a Gelid Silent 5 fan (which normally doesn't fit). The Gelid Silent 5 is an easy to get hold of fan thats quiet and powerful, but being a 5mm deeper than the GC's standard 10mm fan I've had to sink the recess back and removed the lower mounting points, but its been fine without them and sits flush. Printing - I used ApolloX filament so it could handle higher temps that might happen than normal PLA. The print ends up needing tons of supports and you have to be careful separating it all at the end. Wiring - because its run with the Gamecube's 2 pins instead of the fans standard 3 pin header the fan runs at full speed and was fairly loud & over powered, so I add 2 22ohm resisters in series on the power wire to back it down to about 7.75v (like the noctua low noise adapters do I think). Now I cant really hear it at all and its nice and cool.
