This sculpture depicts Ganymede with the eagle of Zeus. It originates from Italy. The marblr sculpture is set on a Roman funerary altar with a Latin inscription for Ti. Cl. Corinthus. The altar was found near the Porta Capena at Rome in 1713 and was acquired by General Sir H. J. Montresor around 1750.
