Garmin eTrex to quarter turn adapter

NOTE: uses the flat head screw from the original Garmin clip adapter. Adapter designed to fit older Garmin eTrex series gps devices to standard Garmin quarter turn accessory mounts. This allows you to use any current Garmin quarter turn cycling mount, which are much more elegant than either the original Garmin eTrex handlebar mount, or the aftermarket RAM Mount solutions. I designed and tested this with a Garmin eTrex Legend HCx. It will work with some other models that have the same backplate with removeable clip, but some of the eTrex series have a built in clip, and as such would not be compatible. I tested on a couple of road rides, and one mountain bike ride. The Garmin didn't move at all, although the click in engagement felt a bit softer than an original Garmin quarter turn would. Always use a tether!
