Garmin Nuvi 14xx Motorcycle Support adapter

This design was made to enable a Garmin Nuvi 14xx to be mounted on a Samurai Warrior cell phone support. The support uses a vise press approach in order to secure a regular cell phone securely. But my Nuvi is quite thick, doubling in thickness that of a typical cell phone, so the support barely grabs it. Although it never loosed hold during some road testing I made, I thought it best to design an add-on to allow a perfect grip. My solution consists of 3 pieces: Two of them are part of the Nuvi holder proper: A vertical holder, which locks in the Nuvi locking sockets. A horizontal holder to provide additional grip. The third part, the dummy cell phone, has 4 options differing in size, weight, printing time, etc For this particular piece, you can choose whichever version fits your cell phone holder the best. For the Samurai Warrior, I found that the smaller one is enough, but other options would be better for other types of cell phone support. The parts are finally sandwiched together by means of 2 screws, washers, and nuts. I used M3 but you can change it to any other similar thread you wish. The washer chamfer is generous so you can fit big flat washers and a locking one also. I am posting the SketchUp .skp file so you can make adjustments or mods if you need to. If not, use the .stl directly. Take notice: this file is on a 100:1 scale! I printed the parts using PLA 0.4 nozzle, with 50% infill. I used support, touching buildplate only. Las piezas finalmente se unen mediante 2 tornillos, arandelas y tuercas. Utilicé M3 pero puede cambiarlo a cualquier otro similar de paso de similar de diametro adecuado. El chaflán de la arandela es generoso, por lo que se pueden usar arandelas planas grandes y una de bloqueo también.
