There much more advanced design now published: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6172857 == old description == I designed stand to my liking, as I couldn't find one that ticks all my boxes. Boxes that this design ticks: [x] strong. It handles 1-2kg by design. Probably you can load 5kg, legs should bend in such case and canister should lower to ground. It will not self-disassemble when load is applied. Even with high load it should continue to fulfill stabilizing function. [x] compactly foldable. [x] holds together. It will not disassemble when folded (or in any other position) - I can keep it in bag without worries of loosing parts. [x] printable without support. Assembly recommended by single wood screw. (I used 4mm x 20mm wood screw). Alternatively parts can be glued. Alternatively (depending on tolerances) it may hold together just by pressing parts together. (Working forces are not directed to loosen parts). General caution with camping gas stoves - no matter how stable is base, top of stove can topple, so you never want to build a boiling tower on table where liquids can spill on you or others. Do all boiling on ground level. (and when on ground, such tripod is very handy).
