What it is: - camping gas canister tripod These are "normal" features, that most canister tripods have: - it hold gas canister while cooking. This is especially convenient when you place canister on uneven ground. - it folds smaller when not in use. - tripod is "clicked on" canister bottom, and stays attached if you lift canister (to relocate or adjust position) This design features: - optimized for 3d printing - parts print flat; - no hard-to-print objects; - designed with pla/petg properties in mind. - assembled with spring-click mechanism. no glue or screws. Will not come apart during use, during storage, during opening, during canister insert or removal. - hinge geometry: - stiff when in working position - stiff when in folded position - will hold 1-2kg weight easy - has door-stop at working position - has "indexed feel" because it is not perfectly round but 12-edge polygon shape. Features of thingiverse design: - design can be parametrized - if you want it higher/lower/stronger or different baloon size. - there is model option "assembly" - right here in thingiverse you can play with parameters and see finished assembly (print-what=0) with parts in their final positions (not flat on printbed). ... see screenshot example (onebaloon-fatleg-shortleg contraption). Why new design: - after making first (screw-hold) version, I had many ideas how hinge and assembly could be improved. So came this design. (probably this is mark 6).
