School assignment. “Gate of Hope” is a steel sculpture designed by Alexander Liberman and completed in 1972. It is located on Holmes Hall lawn, in front of the Engineering Building, at University of Hawaii at Manoa. The bright red(cadmium red) color is the primary color accents of Holmes Hall as well as the signature color of Liberman, it is also a frequently used color that represent life and vibrancy to the structure. It has a connected shape of cylinder which the view throughout this sculpture is changing dramatically in different viewpoint. His several highly recognizable sculptures take inspiration from steel beams, pipes, drums, and such. Process Step1: Capture the image of the site using phone.
