GBC Q5 DIY Lamination Jig

GBC Q5 DIY Lamination Jig

This Jig will help DIY "Laminate" the original GBC RETRO PIXEL 1.0 display and lens. This has been tested with the applied lens adhesive but should work with a small amount of LOCA (UV optical adhesive) This is now possible since funny playing recently began shipping GBC RETRO PIXEL 1.0 kits (non-laminated) with GBC RETRO PIXEL 2.0 (laminated) Ribbons. Although you can now shift the displayed pixels around the Q5 display, you are unable to see the lit text "Game Boy Color", so be aware of the display functions. Using the included lens is required since most do not have a large enough viewport. If you are not using a Funny Playing laminated shell, heavy trimming is needed, although DIY trimming is possible. Verify lens fitment first as funny playing GBC lenses are very tight in most shells (sanding the lens edge is also possible). The adhesive protection on the lens must be removed, cut and should be re-applied to the left and right sides to help facilitate removal from the jig as well as to maintain the integrity of the adhesive. (trimming while applied is likely to damage the lens) Game Boy Color Retro Pixel IPS LCD available from our store: https://www.retromodding.com/products/game-boy-color-retro-pixel-ips-lcd Game Boy Color Glass Screen Lens for Retro Pixel IPS available from our store: https://www.retromodding.com/products/game-boy-color-glass-screen-lens-for-retro-pixel-ips Funny Playing Replacement Q5 IPS Display available from our store: https://www.retromodding.com/products/retro-pixel-replacement-ips-lcd
