Gear Board

Gear Board

thingiverse

With this tool students will be able to learn about gear configurations and ratios of power. For the younger age groups, students will learn about rotation and which direction gears move as well as speed. Older students will learn about gear ratio and how one configuration could lead to more power in motion for later gears. This can also be used as a puzzle. For example, setup one gear on one end and another at the other end, then have the students try and get one gear to spin one direction and the other one the other way with the fewest number of gears. Students can also stack gears on top of each other, I'm hoping the gears are a snug fit to the rods, again I don't have a 3D printer so I can't test this out. The boards themselves can also be expanded by stacking and adding rods. The possibilities are endless :D !! Instructions Based off of Lego gears, but not exactly the same shape or size so these are not lego compatible... at least i don't think they are
