Based on the problem, to get 20 Nm torque, need minimum Gear Ratio 572. Assuming 75% efficiency , rounding up gear ratio is 770. In this design, we can achieve a gear ratio is 823.Also required rpm is 1 +/- .5, ie within the range, .5 to 1.5. With this gearbox, output rpm is in the range of .6 to 1.2 rpm ie, within the range. All assembly/ disassembly is made possible in z axis. additional ribs and standoffs are added to plastic case. there are total 7 spur gears ( 4 of them are same so 4 different gears), 4 no of smooth 4 mm shafts for gears, 2 spacers( bush),one bearing and screws for mounting motor and top cover.
