After 10 years of daily use my garage door opener stripped off all the teeth of the belt gear. The original gear was made of Nylon, but somewhat fragile, as it had deep grooves between the teeth. The replacement gear is printed in solid PC without the grooves between the teeth and I believe it is now unbreakable. The brass insert from the old gear is reused.
