Gear spinner w bearing weights MkII (smaller)

Gear spinner w bearing weights MkII (smaller)

thingiverse

This is a modified version of my larger bearings based gear spinner (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2573103). I've used skate board bearing sized holes (608) both for the actual bearing and for the weights. As I don't like wasting bearings as weights I use different "adapters" for my prints - the bearing2hexnut adapter (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2044157) and my own bearing2marble adapter (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2573118) for the version in the photo. The steampunky design fits well with either hex nuts or marbles (though I prefer the marbles aesthetically myself). The spinner in the photo is printed using gold and silver coloured filament and I've then use a miniature wash and varnished the entire spinner (including marbles) to get the patina look.
