This is an altered version of my model for the Octus Service Medal which can be found here: Gears of War Cog Octus Service MedalThe primary different between this and the Octus Service Medal is that I've added a Scale Feature.I have the outermost diameter scaled down to 2'' in order to match the dimensions of real dog tags. I use a non-uniform scale for the thickness, which is half of the value used for scaling the height and width. You will also note that a hole has been created for adding a ring so these can be hung from a chain and the text is different when compared to Octus Service Medal. Please note that there are 2 versions of the Cog Tags. The 1st version simply has text on the one side, facing in the same orientation you see on the service medal. The 2nd version has the text reversed as is seen on editions released with Gears of War 2 as well as details on the back.If you would like to customize the Cog Tag for yourself, I would recommend the 2nd version, as I changed how the model makes the cuts for the letters. You'll note in the sketch for the letters, there is the inner and outer circles, if you would like the text to be in the orientation like in Version 1, then be sure to select the line opposite from the one currently selected. Make sure none of the letters overlap eachother at all otherwise the cut extrude will fail. This can be accomplished by increasing the spacing between the letters. If you open the assembly, it will likely tell you that it cannot find the Cog Tag file, you will simply need to select either the version 1 or the version 2 file and it should work.Think you can do better? I've uploaded a set of reference images as well as some of the possible fonts you could use. Also, if you can identify what the text says on the image included in the game references titled "2 Cog_Tags_Render" please let me know what it says.Known Cog Tag Numbers :B.
