Use super glue or similar to install two 18mm diameter x 2mm thick, round, neodymium magnets in the recesses in the back of the ledge. Use two more magnets on the outside of the tank wall to install the ledge. If the ledge slips down the tank wall, place some electrical tape on the surfaces of the magnets that contact the tank wall. This will increase the friction and keep the ledge from slipping down. Use a two-liter bottle cap or similar for a food dish.
