Update 11 Jan 2017 Added a set with a lower profile. The original dampeners raised the bed about 17mm. This set raises the printer just 12.5mm for those using a lack table as a cabinet. Download the lower profile ones: a) bbDdamper_v3FrontBackSetWithHolesResized.75.stl b) bbDamper_v3CentreSetResized.75.stl You will of course need to print 4 X b & 2 X a. I always thought my Geeetech printer was silent, with just some background & fan noise. Then I watched this video by the 3D Printing Nerd where at the end he adds some dampeners he printed to the Original Prusa i3 MK2 and suddenly it was all quiet.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=luhe4Nm8g-w I downloaded the dampeners and printed one and tested it and suddenly my printer went all silent. Wow!! The original did not fit my Geeetech however so I imported the model into Sketchup and made my mods so that it would fit without moving about. . There are 2 sets - 1 for the Front/Rear and the other for the Central support. I printed these, fitted them and the only sound from a metre away was the whine of the fan thru the blower. The printer was very very silent. If you thought your printer was silent, print a set of these, fit them and then you will know what silent is. My thanks to lazzymonk, who designed the original. Print Settings Printer: Geeetech Full Metal Aluminum Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.2 Infill: 20% Notes: You need to print 4X of the Front/Back model and 2X of the Centre model. Note that I printed these WITHOUT supports. The overhang is very slight and any misprinting here can easily be removed. Post-Printing Fitting together is easy. One piece fits into the other. So slide the inner piece sideways into the outer and when in position, rotate it 90 degrees. Some sanding may be needed depending on your printer. I used a plier to press fit the two parts together to make them fit flat. Holes are provided in case you need to screw the dampener to the table. The top hole is for the screwdriver of course:)
