3D printing is an inexpensive and accessible technique to produce many items that can be used to teach biology. In this project the I have used the NUIGalway 3D maker space to generate a gel electrophoresis apparatus that can be used in Molecular Biology practicals. The model generated will be compared to existing model used in the biochemistry teaching laboratory for its efficacy in running and separating DNA samples.
