my approach was to knock a bit of the bulk out really fast, then hollow out the area under the main loading ears and then make little hollow sections running toward the attachment bolts to give them a tubish functionality. Something that took advantage of additive manufacturing. the volume was reduced from 28.27 to 9.83 cubic inches for a 65% weight reduction. Since I didn't have a stress target to aim for I just tried to keep stresses under what was already the high near the loading ears and maintain around a 32nd of deflection.
