One of the main reasons I bought a 3d printer was that it was a cheap way to prototype some survival items and firearm parts. i have 3 bases, one is rounded and as thin as I could make it with no holes , designed to be hotglued to the project. a second base is flat and as thin as I guess I could make it and still have screws hold. the third is beefy, designed to be inletted. UPDATE: ver3 base has 1/4 20 threads built into one hole. there is a little piece of thread that has to be cut off, I can't get it to work otherwise.
