Geneva Mechanism (OpenSCAD)
thingiverse
I've modeled this mechanism in OpenSCAD, where a file with crude animation can be turned on by following instructions within the file. This is a remix of https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:484513. I encountered issues with pausing the print, adding gears, and then resuming the print. To overcome these problems, I divided the holder into two separate parts - a top section and a bottom section - that can be glued together. I added spacers to minimize friction between the gears and the holder object. The Geneva_Wheel_V2.st file from the original project caused my Cura to crash when loaded. However, after importing it into MeshLab, resaving it, and then loading it into Cura again, it seemed to work without any issues. The Geneva_Wheel and Pin_Wheel components were derived directly from the original project.
