This plant can use chemical methods of oxygen production in the short term by exposing a supply of muriatic acid to the abundance of rust available in the soil. This produces water which can be sent to the resupply the water cycling unit, or broken down into oxygen and hydrogen through simple electrolysis to refill oxygen and fuel reserves. It can also use tanks of algae in the longer term to process collected carbon dioxide back into useable O2 and fixed carbon in a mostly passive process to supply the needs of the colony. By placing one of these in Augmented Reality and using your surroundings to simulate the martian environment you can build an entire Mars Colony Base, all you need is your smartphone and “3DBear AR” search for us in the app store of your preference.
