Please check out our new Kickstarter for US infantry! https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/alloymodels/united-states-infantry-wwii/ Several files now in the zip files, more likely many more to come. These were designed low poly and to be printed on an FDM machine. All files are to be printed without supports unless otherwise noted. The scale is about 20mm in height, should be a close fit to 15mm, I am looking for feedback on this so I can adjust scale if needed. 1:100 is the goal. Settings: Print at 0.12 layer height or better. Use brims on weapons and arms that are printed without supports for better bed adhesion. Initially I recommend printing one figure at a time as this limits stringing, however, the head is so small that it blobs because of insufficient cooling time. Therefore I strongly recommend that two figures at a time are printed (or something of equal or greater height). If printed in PLA it's easy to weld models together with a paperclip that has been warmed on the stovetop. WARNING DON'T BURN YOURSELF OR THE HOUSE DOWN, I can not be held liable for how you choose to join these models together! A heat gun with a low setting can be used to create new and altered poses, use with care! In some cases, a flash of the heat gun can really help position the arms as desired. I've added a spur to the top of the helmet to limit any sort of distortion at the top of the head on some models. This controls what exactly strings when the print is finished. This spur is intended to be cut off after the print. I recommend a small file or sandpaper to finish off the head. UPDATE I have stopped doing this because the face was blobbing up, printing multiple figures seems to fix this issue for me. Troubleshooting: If the boot is printed and it looks like there was a direct hit in a pile of dookie you are over extruding. The legs present a great test for stringing. I've sort of given up on trying to fix this, but these take about 12 min to print so play with your retraction settings. Stringing will be the biggest problem with these models.
