Gestational Developmental Brains- Human 23-37 Weeks

thingiverse

This true to scale set of models shows the size and approximate structure of a developing brain at 23, 30 and 37 weeks of gestational age. Each model was averaged over a number of brains, so they lack the characteristics of single subject models. Still, this set is useful in visualizing not only the absolute size at each of the three time points, but just how quickly the brain is growing in the womb. Update 2/29/2016 To make it easier to remember the age of each brain, I've added the number of weeks on the underside of each model. You can print either set, but I personally like this numbered set much better. These files were generously provided Dr. Rudolph Pienaar in the Fetal-Neonatal Neuroimaging and Developmental Science Center under leadership of Dr. Ellen Grant at Boston Children's Hospital and are presented to you in collaboration with the Laboratories of Cognitive Neuroscience at Boston Children’s Hospital.
