A geisha [1] (Japanese geisha) is a woman who entertains her clients (guests, visitors) with Japanese dancing, singing, conducting a tea ceremony, talking on any topic [2], usually dressed in a kimono and wearing traditional makeup and hairstyle. The name of the profession consists of two hieroglyphs: art and man, thus meaning man of art. At the same time, there are other names for such artists and their profession, both in Japanese and in other world languages, including Russian. So, in the Kansai region (where Kyoto is located — one of the largest centers of geisha culture), since the Meiji restoration, the concepts of geiko are used[3] (芸伎), and for a student — the concept of maiko (舞妓) [4]. Students of Tokyo geisha are called hangeku (半玉 - semiprecious stone[5], since their time is twice cheaper than the time of a geisha [6]); there is also a common name o-shaku (お酌 - —pouring sake")[7].
