GI Joe Tomahawk

GI Joe Tomahawk

The Tomahawk helicopter, one of the best toys of the line IMO. It could take a squad of soldiers on an adventure almost anywhere you wanted. I did not have the toy in hand when I modeled it so I used the blueprints, online pictures and probably a few estimates. Although the file was created in full scale it is optimized for printing at 25%. Unless you stay in that range your print may have too much or too little detail. A big ‘thank you’ to Chris who provided some key dimensions from his old toy. If it wasn’t for him I would not have made this. My finished model weighs 32 grams so it cost me about 71 cents for the material to print it. Special note there is an alternate rotor assembly should you not be able to fit the one-piece design on your print bed. I test printed both of them but I would use the one-piece if you can manage it. This file is free to download but please note that it is listed as “non-commercial” because this is a “copy” of someone else's intellectual property and not my own design. Neither you nor I are allowed to buy or sell physical copies of this 3-D model. You are allowed (and encouraged) to print copies for your own personal use. If you have downloaded this file from a source other than my site on thingiverse.com they have done so without my permission. Thank you for respecting me and the rights of the original copyright holder. Much respect and gratitude to past and present members of our Armed Forces, you are the “Real American Heroes”. Your sacrifice allows people like me to live in peace, freedom and make silly little toys like these.
