Made this Giant Bomb logo guy in 3DS Max so I could print one on my new 3D printer. I liked it so much I made a bunch more with a little stand and name tag and sent them to the guys at Giant Bomb! The initial model was pretty rough because I didn't think I'd like my result, so I forgot to increase the amount of faces for a bunch of the pieces (and I made it destructively because I didn't want to spend a billion years on it), but I brought it into MeshMixer and smoothed it a bit. It prints pretty well at half scale, laying on its back. It may not be perfect and might not print well for some people; apologies! This was literally the first thing I made specifically to be printed, and I'm still wrapping my head around solid modeling vs the surface modeling that I'm used to. The GB_Logo.stl is the more smoothed version from MeshMixer, while the gb2.obj is the more raw version straight from 3DS Max. Print Settings Printer: Maker Select V2.1 Rafts: Yes Supports: Yes Resolution: .2 Infill: 20 Notes: I printed one version with the above settings, and then printed the rest that I made at .3mm res and at 10% infill, which reduced the print time by a LOT (I was also printing name tags and a post/stand at the same time, so this saved me a bunch of time). Even at the reduced quality they still came out nicely, and if I had more time to spend on them, doing more sanding and using some putty they would have looked even better. The 10% infill might be just a tad on the low side though, as when I went to drill the post hole, it caused some of the holes to break open a bit more than expected. Increasing this by 5 or 10% should fix that.
