I won't call this thing a work in progress because it functions as is, but you should note that the picture frame glass can very between manufacturers, so please take note that this frame should fit standard picture frame glass (dollar store) that measures smaller than 260 x 214 mm. The lighted portion of the box uses standard 5050 SMD light 300 LED per 5m light strips and needs to be soldered or attached within the bottom portion of the box. I have included both insert types for the bottom portion of the box the larger insert allows the frame to stand upright. I designed this in tinkercad so unfortunately I do not have any build files for it but if you do want to modify the STL's feel free to do so. The two side pillars attach to the base with CA glue or other epoxy. I have made recessed tabs for each pillar so they will only slide into their respective sides when assembled with CA glue. The top of the base slides on over the tabs on each pillar so you can switch between glass etchings if you want to. I have designed all fitted parts to have at least a 0.30 mm tolerance, so a strong first layer and/or minor over extrusion should not interfere with fit. You may want to print the pillars with support for the overhang on the top tabs, they will sit 90 degrees to the build plate other wise the spot for the glass will sit 90 degrees and need support. The bottom of the frame is designed for smaller LED receivers you can find on eBay, gearbest or banggood. If you need more information on assembly and parts you can see a timelapse of the wiring and bottom frame here. https://youtu.be/6OgNLKKodbQ There are multiple STLs included here that are grouped together and independent pieces, the grouped files may need a large printer, I used the CR-10 but you can print pieces independently.
