As usual with 3D printing, when there is a problem we fixit with our trusted 3D Printer. In this case my father broke a glasses case, but fortunately the glasses didn't broke, only the case.

So I decided to design my own case and print it just in time to Christmas.

I decided to make a different design to minimize the potential for scratching the lens of the glasses in the case, so I made a "vertical" design. With this design the contact point is the frame of the glasses and I hope, not the lens. I had limited testing with the glasses I own, so take this with a grain of salt and test it yourself to make sure it works. Also consider this a work in progress where, based on feedback, I can improve the design to accomplish the design goals, in a more universal way.

Also take notice in the dimension of the box and your glasses size. The box currently can hold 14 cm wide glasses and 5cm tall. If you have bigger glasses maybe scaling would be a possibility, but I haven't tested this. Let me know if you want a bigger case, I can redesign it to make it bigger to fit your glasses.

A final word for the hinges: I used a paper clip and glued in place. This makes the hinges strong and smaller than a 100% printed solution. You can also use a filament instead of a clip, since the hole size should allow a 1.75mm filament (I haven't tested this, no idea if its strong enough).

Happy printing and enjoy! Waiting for you feedback also :)
