Glowing Moon Lamp Base

Glowing Moon Lamp Base

I really like the Glowing Lithograph moons that I've seen a few people print and I wanted to make one into a desk lamp. I liked Brandonzhun's Glowing moon because it was split into 2 parts: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2531838 I printed just the top part of the moon and designed my lamp base to take the place of the bottom half. I drew thew up in Rhino 3D real quick, and wanted something pretty simple that I'd be able to print with one of my cool 16m Makerbox samples, I used Proto Pasta's Glitter filament here. You can print this with no supports, and probably pretty much any layer height you want, I think I used .16mm or .2mm I then used a small C7 light bulb socket/candelabra base I got from a local hardware/home improvement store: https://www.menards.com/main/lighting-ceiling-fans/lighting-hardware-accessories/kits-cleaners-accessories/patriot-lighting-snap-in-socket-cord-set-with-switch/p-1444429515492-c-7522.htm?tid=-2798504868495257948&ipos=1 and a .4w C7 LED bulb. I used some hot glue to glue the light socket it, its a little larger than the socket so the plug and switch will fit through. If you are curious the I printed the Moon with Maker Geek's White hot white at .12mm layer height and 75mms because I didn't want the layer lines to stick out, I think it turned out great. Feel free to print this Glowing Moon lamp base for yourself or as a gift, but please don't be selling them. If you really want to sell one or more holler at me and we'll work something out.
