Glowing night sky and planets

prusaprinters

This is ment to be printed with glow in the dark filament. It can proivde more realistic look of a night sky and planets.

Print instructions

Use hardened steel nozzle for glowing filament.

Planets:
Scale it/cut it in your slicer to fit your needs.
I found out that planet thickness around 2-3mm (roghly 1/8 inch) seems to be a good compromise. Thinner shines less. Thicker looses shades and details

Aim for 3D effect (deeper valleys) rather than bulky body.
Dont worry to cut/scale the body in Z axis. Small holes or empty space in your planets are not a problem (as long as it holds together)... It gives you more visible shades.

Stars:
If you are willing to give a huge amount of effort, you can achieve "Milky way" effect by printing a lot of smaller stars.
note: I can not recommend to print smaller stars than 7mm (1/4 Inch). It is barely visible and may have potential problem with adhesion to your bed

I used 100% infill
