Awhile back, I ditched commercial glucose tablets for amuch cheaper alternative: Smarties (or Rockets, for those of you in Canada) are exactly the same form of glucose/dextrose at a fraction of the cost, and at roughly 0.5g carbs each they are easy to dose with (~7g carbs per roll). They also taste good.

Unfortunately, this also meant losing out on the nice protective bottles that glucose tablets come in, and I quickly found my bag full of sugar dust. To solve this, I designed a tube just large enough to snuggly hold two rolls of candy if you fold the bottom plastic twist over slightly as you're inserting the roll. Yes, it's probably overkill, but it's also nice to be able to toss a couple in my pocket while exercising and not worry about them turning into goo in my pocket.

I've also included a shorter variation for the mini SweetTarts candies, which I just discovered are a thing. At 5.5g carbs per roll, they're not quite as much sugar as Smarties, but it's nice to have a variety.

There are also variation of each that will hold 4 rolls of candy, sized roughly to match the length of an insulin pen.

You can find the source for these shapes at OnShape: https://cad.onshape.com/documents/41b98d25a2f0beb82005bf7e/w/a3862b07ffad95b18debddd1/e/92bc2afb7cb5d831e212d8a0

Don't forget to also check out the insulin needle holder shown in the photo: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3082718
Category: Other
