If you ever need to open your tilt-telescopic steering column, such as to install a new turn signal switch, you will find that this part has broken into half a dozen pieces. You can still find them on eBay and Amazon, but if you're like me, then you know that they won't be making them forever. I am restoring a '78 Corvette and am finding myself needing to 3D print or machine so many "out of production" parts that I have decided that I'm just going to post all of my files as I make them. I hope that they help somebody else that's in my situation.

I would suggest printing .1mm and solid as the piece is only 2mm thick. You will need to print support, and I'd suggest printing it upside down so that it's easier to remove the support material, but at least now you will always have a replacement at your fingertips.
Category: Automotive
