This project is a collaboration with Dr. Gary Mawe. Gary has a passion for Wilson "Snowflake" Bentley's snowflake photography, and has developed a talent for photographing snowflakes, or snow crystals, at his VT home. Gary asked me if I could take his images and transform them into 3D prints. After a little editing, I came up with printable versions of five of Gary's snow crystal images. He has graciously allowed me to share them with all of you! Edit 11-21-17 Added a polar array clone crystal (#5a) as an STL for folks to play around with. 12-1-17 STL files released You may see a rectangular plane under the crystals. This does not usually print since it has zero thickness. Happy Holidays! Print Settings Printer: Hyperion Forge 3D Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.2 Infill: 100% Notes: Each of these crystals takes around an hour to print.
