Goggle Clip Giro Encore 2 Ski Helmet

Goggle Clip Giro Encore 2 Ski Helmet

My first 3d model. I needed a new clip for my Giro Encore 2 helmet. The geometry is spline-based, written with SolidPyhton, producing an openScad file. So the scad file is a bit complex, but you can easily change the text inside or adjust the holes. A few comments: - I first tried to print with a simple skirt, but the piece moved when print was at approximately half-way up. Then I used a brim, which printed fine but left some residues. No support needed. - A stencil font was used for the text. You will probably need the font installed to render in openScad (available online for free). Be careful when changing the text: some characters may not be printed due to complex bridges, or you may have to rotate the piece 180°. - You still need a screw to fix the goggle clip.
