I was watching a Wranglerstar episode about useful tools and when Cody mentioned sharpies he showed “magnet doohickies” so you can stick sharpies on anything a magnet sticks to like toolboxes or refrigerators. I have lots of the 8mm x 2.5mm magnets that are available for pretty cheap on Amazon or Ali-Express.

I whipped up a flexible version for TPU (I used Sainsmart 91A TPU) and then a RIGID version that attaches with some tension on the standard sharpies.

I use a little spot of epoxy to attach the magnet, make sure they are clean and place around some steel, like a screw driver shaft so the magnet won't fly off when some metal passes by.

Here's the video where he talks about them:

<oembed url="https://youtu.be/-M9g--9MGa8?t=876"></oembed>

There are two sizes, one that fits on the CAP and another that fits on the BARREL of the marker. I've included Fusion 360 files for easier remixing. The model is parameterized (SHIFT-P), the built-in variations are selectable with 1 or 0 in the last two parameters:

Enjoy
