GoldiBox Model #9 Giant Fluid Sluice Box with Inline Classifier

This is model #9 from my GoldiBox series of sluice boxes and prospecting tools. This is a jumbo sized fluid sluice box measuring in at 3' (36 inches). The GoldiBox #9 is a replacement for Model 6. This version is easier to build and runs better. It is also lighter. The angle of the grizzly bars has been lessened so material clears easier. In addition to that, the grizzly bars are removable/interchangeable and come in two sizes - 1/8" and 1/4". The inline classifier is also much improved over Model 6. The inline classifier is bigger and beefier allowing a larger amount of material to be processed. Four rubber booties make it easy to slide/shake in the flare and not mar the surface. When I know I'm going to prospect where there is good flow, I use this GoldiBox. Otherwise, I use my GoldiBox Highbanker. The GoldiBox Model #9 is capable of processing material in medium to heavy flow. The GoldiBox model #9 recovers fine and coarse gold. In the picture with the pan and heavies, you can see the amount of concentrates in the trap after running your unclassified material. The classifier is convenient for running clay and mud laden material and is also helpful when you do not have fast flow and want to run smaller material. The fluid box will boil in slower flow, but only if you reduce the size of the material. That's when the classifier comes in handy. But if you have strong flow, just shovel away without the classifier. All the pictures in this posting showing gold were taken using the GoldiBox Model #9 . The gold was recovered in Butte Creek (Magalia, CA), - just a few miles from home. Here's a demo of the classifier in use: https://youtu.be/Pdd4GJgzmPs Video of my best Gold finds of 2020: https://youtu.be/hOOqlSUDiwo Please read all the notes and view the images for successful printing/assembly. All parts are printed in PETG Print Quantities (1) Flare (1) Nugget Trap (1) Indicator Matting (1) GoldiBox Badge Right (1) GoldiBox Badge Left (1) Inline Classifier (1) 1/8" Grizzly Screen (1) 1/4" Grizzly Screen (4) Inline Classifer Foot - Print these in TPU (rubber) Hardware: (8) - 5mm x 8mm flat top screws to connect the flare and trap with the joining badges (see images) (2) - 5mm x 20mm flat top screws for the grizzly bars. The grizzly bars press fit on the screws and then swivel (up and down). The flex properties of PETG allow it to snap fit on the screws. It easily pops on and off with a little pressure but stays secure once in place. (4) - 5mm x 30mm flat top screws for the inline classifier legs. (1) Tube of silicone to affix the indicator mat to the deck of the flare and trap. The indicator mat should be pushed all the way forward towards the trap. Dry fit the indicator mat before applying the silicone so you know where to place it once you put silicone on it. It eliminates any residual mess. <b>TIP</b> - Put the silicone on the mat and spread it evenly before applying. Do not apply silicone to the sluice. - The indicator mat is optional. OPTIONAL (but recommended). Apply marine epoxy along the seam where the flare and trap join for additional strength (not shown). The badges and screws work fine as joining plates and they have never failed but I tend to over engineer things. :-) Good Luck and Happy Prospecting!
