During this uncharted time during the Covid-19 pandemic, many have started to resort to new methods of getting outside and getting active. In many places around the world golfing has become a new pastime for many. Due to the nature of this pandemic, many of the open golf courses have not been providing carts for their customers. Golfers have started to walk the courses and, more specifically, use golf push carts to carry their clubs.Golf push carts allow for an easier way to transport clubs without lugging them on your back.This has led me to create a mount that attaches to the umbrella stand of a Clicgear Golf Push Cart.Many use their phones on the course to keep track of yardage and score. This leads to the necessity to be able to access your phone quickly while on the course.I have tested my design out on the course and have refined it with multiple iterations. While designing my model I had to perform some calculations so that I could get the tolerances right in my model. I used mostly 1mm tolerances, which tends to work on my specific 3D printer.While printing it I used a .8mm nozzle to achieve maximum strength and rigidity.The current mount fits a Samsung Galaxy S4 with a case, a golf ball, and two tees.This model is printed in two parts so that the angle of the phone can be adjusted depending on the user. These two parts attach using an M5 bolt and nut. When they are tightened the two parts stay at whatever angle they are set due to friction.The model attaches to the umbrella stand on the push cart using zip ties which go through the holes on the mount and tighten the plastic around it.I was able to fabricate this design with an FDM 3d printer using supports and sanding after but it could be beneficial to use a different type of 3D printing method.----I have added a new phone holder that attaches to the clamp part. This new holder is adjustable for all types of phones using a gear mechanism and a rubber band on the clamp to create a spring like action. The rubberband is optional but helps with the clamping force.This design still uses the same mounting system to the umbrella holder and the same piece. Additionally it uses the same system to attach the two pieces together.This design can be FDM 3d printed but would probably be better using something like SLA because of the overhangs.
