<figure class="media"><oembed url="https://youtu.be/Bv28MwyLqmI"></oembed></figure><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>“Making of” video</strong></p><figure class="media"><oembed url="https://youtu.be/Qb3pAsfeqLA"></oembed></figure><p>Inspired by a TikTok featuring a piece of industrial machinery with googly eyes, I set about souping up my new half-ton pickup truck with googly eyes and a mouth, meant to look like a dog hanging its head out the window (the Ford logo is the nose). &nbsp;I worked on this in secret and managed to keep it a surprise from my kids until the big reveal.</p><p>Designed using Fusion 360.</p><p>The googly eyes were sourced from Amazon:</p><p><a href=" https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00KHZGMZ0">&nbsp;</a><a href="https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00KHZGMZ0">https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00KHZGMZ0</a></p><p>(currently unavailable, but any 7" eyes should work)</p><p>It is important to print the attachment points on their side (i.e. with the “D” shape on the print bed). &nbsp;This orients the layer lines so that there isn't a weakness that would allow the mounts to break under stress.</p><p>The mouth/tongue is a multi-part STL. &nbsp;In PrusaSlicer, you can split to parts in order to specify different materials for the mouth, tongue, and median sulcus if you have a MMU. &nbsp;It has to be printed at an angle in order to fit on the print bed (see photo).</p><p>Googly eyes and tongue were glued into the mounts using epoxy.</p><p>Once assembled, I mounted on the grille with zip ties.</p>
