In order to reduce the jerking in the footage some sort of stabilization is required. Stabilizing can either take place in post-production or at the very moment of filming.\\ This is where self-stabilizing gimbals come into play, detecting any sort of unwanted jerk and to counteract accordingly. To do so one needs a certain set of sensors and actuators. This project uses the MPU6050 IC which incorporates a 3-axis gyroscope and a 3-axis accelerometer. These sensors are enhanced by the built in digital motion processor. In software this is further abstracted by the MPU6050 portion of the I2Cdev library . An example program of this library is used in this project to read in sensor data.Furthermore a joystick is added to set the cameras orientation onto a desired position (offset).
