GoPro Lens Cap

GoPro Lens Cap

The GoPro HD camera kits come with everything right? Hey, where's the lens cap?! A buddy of mine showed me his pathetic attempt at a lens cap using some sort of a bottle cap and rubber bands, but we as MakerBot operators don't have to settle for that...just print one! Instructions I've printed this on a TOM with a heated build platform, but you could use the automated platform too. It's a tight fit because there's not much of a flange around the lens and it relies on a little bit of suction to stay in place. I suggest fitting the cap to the camera while it's warm out of the machine. Machine tolerances vary and I've printed two in a row and they fit perfectly, but you may have to bump the scale up slightly to get it to fit. My print-o-matic setting are: no raft, object infill 35, layer height .32, number of shells 2 and feedrate 32.
