Gopro pole head replacement (El Grande)

Hi Makers!

Ball mount is incredibly weak on El Grande Gopro pole, made out of brittle plastic which breaks at first opportunity.
There is no official spare part and the head can not even be easily removed as it is molded in the tube. As a solution, Gopro support tells you to buy a new complete pole… (no joke!)

To remove the original head, you have to cut it then drill a hole in the remaining plastic part in the tube. With a metal saw blade, you have to cut the remaining platisc cylinder part longitudinally from inside on at least one side and then remove it with pliers. (see pictures)

This replacement head is simple and much lighter than the original. Unlike the original, it offers a single rotation axis, but guess what, your wrist can do the other one! ;-)

There is two parts to print, the main one and a cone to expense the part in the tube. There is a M3x50mm screw which will tighten the expending part in the tube. As a picture explains better than a long speech, see the section analysis one.

I made it with Fusion 360 and it is completely parametric. F360 files available upon request.

Printed with PLA Prusament, 100% infill
